Doula Care by Melody Ronan (“I,” “me,” or “my”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information I collect through melodyronandoula.com and my coverage form, how I use it, and the choices you have.
Information I collect
Information you give me. When you fill out my coverage form, book a consultation, call, text, or email me, you may share:
- Your name, phone number, email address, and how you prefer to be contacted
- Your date of birth and due date
- Where you plan to give birth
- Your insurance plan, member ID, and the name of the person the insurance is under
- A photo of the front of your insurance card, if I request one by email
- The services you’re interested in and anything else you choose to tell me
Information collected automatically. My website does not use its own cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. My hosting provider may record basic technical details, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure.
How I use your information
- To verify your insurance coverage and eligibility for doula care
- To contact you about your questions, consultation, and services
- To provide doula and placenta encapsulation services
- To bill your insurance plan for covered services
- To meet legal and recordkeeping requirements
I do not sell your information, and I do not use it for advertising.
Who I share it with
I share your information only as needed to serve you:
- Loula, the billing platform I use to verify coverage and bill your insurance
- Your health plan, to confirm eligibility and submit claims
- Service providers that help me run my business, such as Google Workspace (email and forms), Calendly (scheduling), and Netlify (website hosting)
- Others when you ask me to, or when the law requires it
Your health information
Once you become a client, your health information is also protected under the federal HIPAA privacy rules. My Notice of Privacy Practices explains how your health information may be used and shared and what rights you have. You can request a copy at any time.
How I protect your information
I use secure, password-protected business accounts and HIPAA-compliant tools to store and send your information, and I limit access to what is needed to serve you. No online system is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
How long I keep it
I keep your information only as long as needed to provide services, bill insurance, and meet legal and recordkeeping requirements.
Reviewing or changing your information
You can ask to see, correct, or update the information you’ve shared with me, or ask me to delete it, by contacting me below. Some records may need to be kept for legal or billing reasons.
Do Not Track and third-party sites
My website does not track you across other websites, so it does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals. My site uses Google Fonts and links to other services, such as Google Forms, Calendly, Loula, and social media. When you use those services, they may collect information under their own privacy policies.
Children’s privacy
My website is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them through this site.
Changes to this policy
If I make important changes to this policy, I’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
